Database of Global Chip Suppliers Expands with Major Update
Additional profiles increase online listing to more than 220 IC companies

Scottsdale, Arizona --- July 5, 2007 --- IC Insights has completed a major update of its Strategic Reviews Online database of semiconductor company profiles, adding a number of Asian, European, and U.S. chip suppliers to its global listing. Among more than 220 IC companies in the database, 45% are fabless, 43% are IDMs, 9% are foundries, and 3% are third-party IP vendors. Of companies having released fiscal 2006 sales, 19% had less than $100 million in revenue, 41% had sales between $100 million and $500 million, 9% had sales between $500 million and $1.0 billion, and 31% had sales greater than $1.0 billion.

Over the past year, the Strategic Reviews Online database has expanded to include major players like Qimonda, Vishay, OmniVision, Cree, and the IM Flash joint venture between Intel and Micron.

In June 2007, IC Insights added a number of fast-growing fabless IC suppliers to the database, including many based in the Asia-Pacific region (e.g., Alchip Technologies, Core Logic, Holtek, and MtekVision). The new profiles include 5-to-10-year-old fabless companies focused on ASICs, low-power memories, digital-camera processors, portable multimedia SoCs, LCD display drivers, and mixed-signal power management ICs.

These recent additions to the database had 2006 annual revenues ranging between $35 million and $196 million, with a combined total of about $1 billion. Many of these companies have seen annual sales double or triple since 2003.

About two-thirds of the new additions are publicly traded and one third are private companies. And, the new database additions have workforces of 70-345 employees and 2006 R&D expenditures up to $28 million.
